Current Day

The data for the current SM and SWE plots are available in tabular files that have one row of values for each grid cell. Files are provided separately for the soil moisture column total and each of the three soil layers.

The fields in each row are:
  cell center longitude
  cell center latitude
  current value (mm)
  climatological mean (mm)
  additive anomaly (mm)
  multiplicative anomaly (current % difference from mean)
  percentile (0-1)

For SWE, if the climatological mean is zero, the other values in the row are set to zero or VOID (-9999.0).

Snow Water Equivalent

Recent Daily Water Balance Variables

Variable values for the recent 2-3 month period can be downloaded HERE. This file updates every day, and is a tarred, gzipped folder containing one file for each grid cell of the model. Each output file in turn contains the recent time series for PCP, ET, RUNOFF, BASEFLOW, TAVG, SOILMOISTURE-1, SOILMOISTURE-2, SOILMOISTURE-3, and SWE. Units are MM and CELSIUS.

Retrospective Data

In addition to the near real-time data above, retrospective data from the archive (1915-present) is available by request from Andy Wood (aww@u.washington.edu). In its current form, the archive dataset is about 1.8G for the whole domain.
