Bugs from 4.1.1 that are fixed in 4.1.2 beta

• Errors in lake model
  • Water balance errors in the lake model when the lake changes area, in particular when ice fraction > 0.
  • Garbage output when lake fraction goes to 0.
• Soil temperature profile
  • Slightly incorrect fallback temperature assignment for finite difference solution.
• Screen output
  • Run statistics, etc. normally printed to the screen end up out of order when saved to a log file.

Issues under investigation

• Stability of the soil temperature formulation (for 4.1.2)
  • Model crashes in solve_T_profile under certain conditions when running with FROZEN_SOIL = TRUE and QUICK_FLUX = FALSE
• High canopy evaporation (for 4.1.2)
  • Simulated evaporation from canopy storage may be unrealistically high for time step = 24 h

Features Under Development

• Improved aerodynamic resistance and wind profile lapsing over canopy (for 4.1.2)
• Distributed water table depth (tbd)
• Carbon cycling (tbd)
